The Timex T56381 blends its signature Ironman Triathlon multi-function, performance sport digital watch with an analog read-out. The dual-tech feature enables you to turn the digital screen off for just an analog watch display, with its luminous hands and orange seconds hand. The large, round stainless steel watch case has a metallic silver bezel with engraved 10-minute marks. It offers a 24-hour chronograph with lap or split option, 42-lap memory recall, 3 interval timers settable up to 100 minutes with countdown repeat function, 2 alarm settings, and 2 time zones. It's water resistant to 100 meters (330 feet).

The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer.

3Good looks, analog not reliable  Jul 06, 2008
I bought this watch because I like the way it looks, and I prefer watches that have both analog hands and digital displays. The display is easy to read, and the disappearing digital allows for a more formal look when required.
I found the watch just about perfect for looks and the display features.
The cons: 1) The watch is heavy, although you don't notice it very much while wearing it. 2) The band wears and it is difficult to replace (there is only one band -- the Timex replacement which is the same as it comes with) that fits properly and I could only find it online. 3) The analog time (hands) seem unreliable -- they stopped entirely although the digital portion continued to keep good time. This was after the 1-year warranty expired so I sent the watch back to Timex and for $40 plus tax and shipping, they fixed it. The same thing happened again after another 7 months! I gave up and bought another model, IRONMAN* Triathlon® Solar Dual-Tech, which is similar, but lighter in weight and solar powered. So far this watch is fine.

One suggestion I have. For $5 Timex will extend the warranty by 4 years to a total of 5 years; given my experiences, it is worth the $5 to extend. (You extend the warranty after purchase by calling Timex, details are in the instructions from the watch).

5Great watch for the price  Jun 21, 2008
I wanted to get a watch I could wear to work, wouldn't look out of place with a suit, and yet could still double as my workout watch. This fits the bill perfectly. It's actually more stylish and classy looking than the picture shows. As others have stated, it's heavy, but not that heavy. It feels solid and well-made. The digital display is bright and easy to read, even under direct sunlight. The strap is thick and seems very sturdy. It is not connected directly to the watch body, so you can get a replacement (theoretically, I haven't checked availability) if it ever breaks. Other things to note and that aren't listed on the description: 1) the movement is made in Thailand, the strap is made in China if this matters; 2) the strap buckle is made of plastic, not metal (this is the only thing I am disappointed with the watch); and 3) the battery is rated for 2 years.

I have owned 2 previous Timexs, each of them lasted over 10 years. In fact, my previous Timex is still running fine at just over 10 years old but the strap broke and it costs about $15 to replace it. For that much, I figured I'd just get a new watch. I did a lot of research into combo watches before I bought this one and I feel that you can't get a better deal with any other brand.

The biggest negative that people seem to mention with this watch is that the analog and digital times do not automatically sync. While it is annoying to have 2 different times, I think it can also be very beneficial for anyone who travels a lot. You can set one time to your local time and another to where ever you are traveling to and be able to see both at a glance. I travel a little for work and so I actually thought having 2 different times on one face would come in handy.

I strongly recommend this watch for anyone looking for a combo watch that is work and casual appropriate. It's a great deal and will probably last you for a very long time.

5Love the product  Jun 20, 2008
I purchased my first Ironman Tech Dress watch 4 years ago and love its functionality and looks. Unfortunately, the rubber watch band wore out and I found that replacement was not easy/feasible. At the price, however, I consider replacing the entire watch still a great value.

4great watch & great deal  Jun 20, 2008
I have had this watch for 3 months now. No, the digital display is not as bright as the photo, but it's plenty bright for my 38 year old eyes. For the most part, I use the analog part for checking the time anyway.
My only complaint: the alarm is weak. Don't depend on it to wake you up if you're a heavy sleeper.
Otherwise, I swim, run, bike, work with it, and it's reliable and looks great.

2Looks are not everything  Jun 03, 2008
I have had my watch 8 months now. While it looks great and I have gotten several compliments, I have had to replace the batteries 3 times. The 1st one that it came with lasted only a month or so.

It says "Water resistant to 100 meters". I can not even shower wearing it. If I am wearing a watch for looks, I will put it on, but if I am wearing a watch for the gym or anything else, I am putting on a different one.

I do like the dual displays, but like another review says, the times on it do not always stay in sync, they slowly drift.

My digital display comes and goes. And it has 2 batteries that have to be checked.

I like this watch because of the looks but ended up buying another kind for everyday use and reliability.
